Discover a unique experience that combines environmental education, wildlife conservation, and local cuisine on a tour perfect for those who want to learn more about Costa Rica’s extraordinary biodiversity and the importance of protecting it.

The adventure begins with a departure from San José to the renowned Toucan Rescue Ranch, a center dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of wildlife. During the guided tour, you’ll have the opportunity to get an up-close look at various species that are part of Costa Rica’s natural wealth, including sloths, toucans, parrots, macaws, owls, monkeys, otters, birds of prey, and other animals that have been rescued and are receiving specialized care.

Beyond simply observing the animals, this experience offers a valuable opportunity to understand the importance of conservation and animal welfare. Through the rescue and rehabilitation stories shared by expert guides, you’ll learn about the challenges faced by many wildlife species and the work carried out by organizations committed to their protection.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the visit is learning about responsible wildlife observation practices. Visitors will learn how our actions can positively or negatively impact animals, the importance of respecting their habitats, and why they should never be fed or handled outside of specialized environments.

Sloths, considered one of Costa Rica’s most iconic animals, hold a special place on the tour. You’ll learn about their behavior, habitat, diet, and the challenges they face due to factors such as habitat loss, accidents caused by human infrastructure, and other risks associated with urban growth.

This visit aims to foster greater environmental awareness and a deeper understanding of the relationship between people and nature, while promoting values of respect, conservation, and protection of biodiversity.

Afterward, we’ll return to San José to enjoy lunch in the renowned Barrio Escalante neighborhood, one of the capital’s most iconic culinary districts. The menu includes an appetizer, main course, beverage, and dessert, offering an excellent opportunity to sample local flavors in an atmosphere that blends tradition and culinary creativity.

By the end of the experience, you’ll return with a broader perspective on the importance of wildlife conservation and the role we can all play in protecting the ecosystems that make Costa Rica a global leader in sustainable tourism.
