Discover Costa Rica’s extraordinary biodiversity on an experience designed to bring you up close to some of the most representative ecosystems of the tropical rainforest. This tour combines breathtaking natural landscapes, wildlife and plant observation, a river safari, and nature trails in the heart of Sarapiquí.
The adventure begins with a departure from San José, passing through the majestic Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the country’s most important protected areas. Along the way, you’ll be able to appreciate the lush mountain vegetation that characterizes this region and understand why Costa Rica is recognized worldwide for its conservation efforts.
Our first stop will be at Rainforest Adventures, where you’ll enjoy a cable car ride through the rainforest canopy. Aboard comfortable gondolas, you’ll have a unique view of the tropical vegetation and the opportunity to observe different species of plants and animals that inhabit the various levels of the forest.
During your visit, you can also explore areas dedicated to environmental education and biodiversity conservation, including a butterfly garden, a snake house, and an area where you can observe sloths under specialized care. These exhibits allow you to learn more about the species that are part of Costa Rica’s tropical ecosystems and the importance of protecting them.
Afterward, we’ll head to the Sarapiquí River to enjoy a boat safari through one of the region’s most important biological corridors. During the boat ride, you’ll have the opportunity to spot various species of birds, monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles, sloths, and other animals that find refuge in the forests surrounding the river. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle and always practicing responsible wildlife observation, avoiding any interaction that might disrupt their natural behavior.
The adventure continues at Selva Verde, a private reserve renowned for its natural wealth. Here, we’ll hike along trails surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and cross a stunning suspension bridge over the Sarapiquí River, from which you’ll be able to appreciate the scenic beauty of this important ecosystem.
To wrap up the day, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at Selva Verde, surrounded by the tranquility of the tropical forest and the characteristic sounds of nature.
At the end of the tour, we’ll head back to San José with a deeper understanding of the extraordinary biodiversity, conservation efforts, and natural wealth that make Costa Rica one of the world’s top tourist destinations.
