The adventure begins with a trip to the Pacific coast, where we’ll board the boat that will take us across the calm waters of the Gulf of Nicoya. During the cruise, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Costa Rican coastline, the islands of the gulf, and the seascapes that characterize this region of the country.
When you arrive at Isla Tortuga, you’ll have time to enjoy its beaches, relax in the shade of the trees, or cool off in the warm ocean waters. The island is part of an important coastal and marine ecosystem in the Gulf of Nicoya, so we invite all visitors to enjoy this natural environment responsibly. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle, avoiding littering, and respecting the local flora and fauna to help conserve this valuable ecosystem.
As part of the conservation efforts underway in the area, the island participates in coral reef restoration initiatives carried out in partnership with the National Distance Education University (UNED) and the National University (UNA). These projects aim to contribute to the recovery and protection of the marine ecosystems of the Gulf of Nicoya by promoting research, environmental education, and the conservation of the biodiversity found in these waters.
In addition to enjoying the beach, you can explore different parts of the island, take in its natural landscapes, and escape the daily grind while enjoying one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful coastal settings.
