We will begin our beautiful and complete natural tour ascending towards the majestic Poas Volcano. But before we immerse ourselves in the awe-inspiring nature that awaits us, we will make a stop at the cozy Doka Estate coffee plantation. Here, beyond learning about the art of coffee cultivation and the sustainable practices that surround it, you will delight in an exquisite typical Costa Rican breakfast that will awaken your senses and prepare you for the day ahead.
Then, we will head to the beautiful POAS VOLCANO, whose main charm lies in its access to the very edge of the crater. This impressive volcano not only has one of the largest craters in the world, but it is nestled in the lush mountain forests of the Cordillera Volcanica Central. Here, we will learn about the fascinating gas emissions, explore its rich ecosystem and marvel at the diversity of its vegetation. On the way to the volcano, you will be able to appreciate the diverse microclimates and the great agricultural variety of the area, from strawberry and flower plantations to cattle ranches. In addition, we will witness a spectacular view of the Central Valley, while the serenity of its large lagoon leaves us with the desire to return again and again.
The complete stay in the Poas Volcano National Park will be approximately 50 minutes, which are distributed as follows: 10 minutes for the initial helmet briefing and information, 10 minutes walk to the viewpoint of the crater of the volcano, 20 minutes of fixed stay at the viewpoint and another 10 minutes on the return to the parking lot of the transport.
Once we have concluded our fascinating visit to the Volcano, we will continue our tour through the picturesque mountainous route to another of the region's most outstanding natural gems: the La Paz Waterfall Gardens, known as the La Paz Waterfalls. This is the most visited private ecological destination in Costa Rica, offering the most impressive trails near San Jose and some of the most famous waterfalls in the country.
In addition to marveling at the majestic waterfalls, this park is home to an animal sanctuary that will take your breath away. From cuddly sloths to felines such as jaguars, pumas and ocelots, to a huge butterfly house, an aviary, playful monkeys, a serpentarium and a ranarium, among other fascinating inhabitants.
