Discover Costa Rica’s most iconic natural treasures in an experience that combines coffee-growing traditions, volcanic landscapes, cloud forests, waterfalls, and an extraordinary diversity of wildlife.
The adventure begins with a departure from San José toward the mountains of Alajuela Province. Our first stop will be at Hacienda Doka, a traditional coffee farm where we’ll enjoy a delicious, typical Costa Rican breakfast before getting an up-close look at the process of growing, harvesting, and producing coffee. During the visit, you’ll learn about the historical and cultural significance of coffee in Costa Rica, as well as the agricultural practices that continue to be part of this centuries-old tradition.
Afterward, we will continue our ascent toward Poás Volcano National Park. As we make our way through the mountains, you’ll be able to observe the changes in vegetation, the region’s diverse microclimates, and the agricultural landscapes characteristic of the Costa Rican highlands.
Upon arriving at the park, we’ll take a hike to the overlook of the main crater of the Poás Volcano, one of Costa Rica’s most visited and iconic volcanoes. This impressive volcano is surrounded by high-altitude forests and unique ecosystems that are home to significant biodiversity. From the overlook, you’ll be able to gaze upon the majestic crater and appreciate the power of the geological processes that have shaped Costa Rica’s landscape. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle and following the guidelines established within the park to help conserve this important protected area.
Our last stop will be at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a place renowned for its stunning waterfalls, nature trails, and commitment to environmental education and wildlife conservation.
During the tour, we’ll hike along trails surrounded by lush tropical vegetation that lead to the spectacular La Paz Waterfalls. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit various wildlife exhibits where you can see sloths, monkeys, big cats, tropical birds, butterflies, amphibians, and reptiles, while learning about the importance of protecting the ecosystems that are home to these species.

To wrap up the tour, we'll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch surrounded by the area's natural beauty before heading back to San José.
