We will begin our tour by ascending to the majestic Poás Volcano, but first we will stop at the cozy Hacienda Doka Estate. At this iconic coffee farm, we will learn about the coffee cultivation and production process, exploring its sustainable practices and impact on Costa Rican culture. We will also enjoy an delicious traditional breakfast, perfect for starting the day with energy.
Then, we will continue on to the Poás Volcano, whose main attraction is its access to the very edge of the crater. This imposing volcano not only houses one of the largest craters in the world, but is also surrounded by the lush forests of the Central Volcanic Mountain Range. Here, we will learn about its fascinating gas emissions, its unique ecosystem, and the diversity of its vegetation. Along the way, we will witness varied microclimates and a rich agricultural area, with strawberry plantations, flowers, and cattle farms. From the summit, we will enjoy a spectacular view of the Central Valley, while the serenity of its large volcanic lake invites us to return again and again.
After our fascinating visit to the volcano, we will continue along a scenic mountain route until we reach La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park, home to the iconic La Paz Waterfalls. This destination is the most visited private ecological park in Costa Rica, famous for its breathtaking trails and majestic waterfalls.
